Our next #SYWoman is Haley Stutzman. She’s an Arkansas native and author of fashion and lifestyle blog Haley’s Dailies. She’s a bridal consultant by day and fashion blogger by night (and weekends).
We recently caught up with Haley to learn about her workwear style, how she got into blogging and what she’s learned since creating Haley’s Dailies.
Haley Stutzmam – Tell us about your career journey.
I am currently finishing my degree in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development at the University of Arkansas and have been working as a part-time bridal consultant a little over a year and I love it!
I started my blog as a creative outlet my freshman year and it has become a major passion of mine for sharing all things fashion, beauty, travel and what I’m up to in my daily life.
What has been one of the best moments of your career so far? Any regrets?
One of the most exciting moments in my blogging career was when Lululemon wanted to collaborate for the opening of a seasonal store in my area. I was able to document the coming together of the store and was featured at local events – so much fun!
My biggest regret is that I did not realize how serious I needed to be when I first started my blog. I wish I would have been more consistent and worked harder on growing my brand in the early stages. Now I know the work it takes and hope to make it my career one day.
What inspires you to get up and go to work every morning?
Knowing that I get to help women find one of their most important purchases of their lives, their wedding dress! It’s a special moment for every woman that walks through our doors and a precious memory that they will carry with them forever.
Your motto for living a stylish yet balanced life.
To me, living a stylish life starts with knowing who you are as a person. What you wear is a way to show the world who you are. Whether that is super edgy or all things feminine.
I feel my best when I love what I am wearing. So I always want to make sure my outfit truly reflects me, even when I am at the gym.
How would you describe your work style – aka workwear?
I tend to pull pieces that are classic, but with a trendy twist. Such as a top with flared sleeves and sleek dress pants. Also, you can never go wrong with a midi skirt or dress. It’s easy to throw on and always looks nice.
I also like to add a denim jacket or cozy sweaters to my outfits because I always get cold. Additionally, I like to accessorize with complimenting jewelry that isn’t too distracting but adds that extra feminine touch.
In regards to work, if I am going to have a long day on my feet, I’m all about a cute pair of leather mules or flats that will keep me going all day. If I’m not comfortable, I will not be at my full potential and productiveness.
Which celeb or on-screen character embodies your style? And Why?
Blake Lively! She’s not afraid of bright colors or mixing patterns and textures. Her personality completely comes through her style, while still being classy and functional. Not to mention she changes outfits so many times a day, that is so me!
Best career advice you’ve ever received?
I had a professor once tell me that just because it’s your job, it doesn’t have to define who you are. You need to be flexible in your career path and find new challenges because you never know what passion it may lead you to.
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for our bridal consultant by day and fashion blogger by night. Haley’s working hard to grow her brand and pursue her dreams of making Haley’s Dailies her career. We are rooting for you and wish you the best!
